  • Upskill Bahamas is open to every Bahamian citizen aged 16 years and over. This includes students, professionals looking to upgrade their skills, and people who are simply curious to learn something new.

    The only requirement is access to the internet via a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

  • All courses offered through Upskill Bahamas are free for Bahamian citizens. The Government of The Bahamas fully funds every course in the programme.

  • The programme offers courses in critical sectors with a demand for skilled personnel. Bahamians can choose from more than 40 courses in areas such as technology (including Artificial Intelligence, data analysis, web development), hospitality and customer service, business and finance, education and training, marketing, entrepreneurship, and language development.

    Leading accredited institutions deliver the courses. These include international universities (for example Oxford University, Columbia University, Harvard University), and leading training providers (e.g. 4Geeks, Le Wagon).

  • The courses vary in length, ranging from approximately 10 hours to over 100 hours of study time. All courses are delivered asynchronously, allowing people to complete them at their own pace and on a schedule that best suits their needs.

  • Yes, participants may take more than one course. However, you must first complete the course you are currently registered for. Once you successfully finish it, and depending on availability, you may apply for a second course.

  • There are three simple steps to register for a course:

    1) Complete the application form with your details.

    2) As part of this, select your preferred course option.

    3) Receive your confirmation email and begin your learning experience.

  • Yes. Upon successful completion of a course, participants will receive a certificate from the accredited course training provider. This certificate recognises a course participant’s skills, effort and achievement.

  • Participants without reliable internet access can take advantage of several free Wi-Fi options available throughout The Bahamas. Urban Renewal Centres across the islands provide complimentary Wi-Fi, and each constituency also has a designated public park where free internet access is available.
